Alpha Living – case study

Client: Alpha Living, a housing association for older people, with over 860 apartments across the North of England.

Objectives:

Alpha Living is a specialist supported housing provider and it wanted to tackle the stigma around older people. In particular, it wanted to demonstrate that the people who live in its homes live full and active lives. Alpha wanted to run a series of low-budget campaigns to raise its profile and briefed Hough Bellis to create them.

What we did:

Hough Bellis researched story ideas and found a couple in their 80s who had met in one of Alpha Living’s developments and were about to get married. We filmed the pair and created a series of social media clips which told their story, and which also delivered Alpha’s key messages. We posted the story on Facebook and promoted it across the Merseyside region where Alpha operates.

Results:

  • The video had around 6,100 organic views on Facebook in the first week – all in the target area of Merseyside.
  • The story caught the public’s imagination and it sparked a series of national and global media articles including Granada Reports, Liverpool Echo, the Daily Mail, the Daily Express, The Sun, The Star, Huffpost and MSN.
